Details
This estate is located in the hamlet of Pez, whose name comes from the old French word for peace. At one time, the ch?teau also had very old elm trees (or ormes in french) dating back to the 18th century. Born in 1880, Marie Cazes married the owner of Les Ormes de Pez in the late 19th century. Widowed, she took on the task of managing the estate, which was higly unusual for a woman at that time. Ch?teau Ormes de Pez has always had great sentimental value for the family, and was purchased just before the Second world war by Marie’s brother, Jean Charles, owner of Ch?teau Lynch Bages in Pauillac. The Cazes family’s link with this cru exceptionnel thus goes back more than a centuryShipped directly from negotiant warehouse in Bordeaux.
Tasting Notes
Pretty golden yellow with aromas of exotic fruits, then one feels notes of gingerbread, candied citrus fruits, ageing like spices and light toast. The finish is long on candied fruits and spices.
